San Diego Holiday Packages

When was the last time you were in true relaxation mode? We’re talking feet in the air, hair mussed, not a care in the world. We bet it’s been far too long. And we know an awesome place for you to remedy that: San Diego, California. Yes, a San Diego holiday has it all—classic cuisine (fish tacos and burritos, anyone?), vibrant nightlife and endless sandy stretches…where you can perfect that messy, beach-hair look, of course. We’ve got just a few San Diego holiday ideas up our sleeve—a few hundred, that is. And you probably won’t even scratch the surface of all there is to see and do in this little slice of American coastal heaven. But you can try, traveller. You can try.

San Diego Beach Holidays

It’s probably no surprise that loads of travellers to San Diego are here for one thing, and one thing only: the beaches! San Diego’s got plenty of them—112km, to be exact, and much like the city’s eclectic residents, they come in all different types. If you want to drop in on some waves, head to La Jolla Shores Beach, which has some of San Diego’s best surfing. Then, drop in on a seal party! Yes, you read that right. Head just south to La Jolla Cove and wave a flipper hello at the pinnipeds that make it their home.

Looking for a different sort of party? In the neighbourhood of Pacific Beach, the party doesn’t stop when the sun goes down. You can keep those flip-flops on from morning till night! Hit the beach by day, or try your luck at fishing off Crystal Pier. When you get peckish, you’re sure to “catch” some fresh seafood at any of the restaurants along Garnet. After sunset, don’t go anywhere—this is the area you want to be in for the nightlife, too.

San Diego Family Holidays

“America’s Finest City” (yes, that’s its real motto) isn’t just for beach bums and party people. It’s also popular with families, and with world-class attractions like the San Diego Zoo and SeaWorld, it’s easy to see why. For example, the zoo is known around the world for its conservation efforts—animals it’s helped include California condors and giant pandas—and yes, this place has won heaps of awards. But your kids won’t care about any of this. They want to see the tigers! And see tigers they will, along with lions, giraffes and huge western lowland gorillas.

The zoo has penguins and polar bears, but for the true aquatic experience, head to San Diego’s other famously family-friendly spot: SeaWorld. Ride the Shipwreck Rapids and watch both flippered and four-legged friends in the live shows. Hey, dogs might not live in the sea, but they still rule!

Families also shouldn’t miss LEGOLAND in Carlsbad, about 53km north of San Diego. It’s exactly what it sounds like: LEGO-themed interactive attractions, roller coasters and cool LEGO-building challenges. This park is great for younger children (OK…and adults of all ages). Book San Diego car hire from Wotif and motor on up. Bonus: Keep going north for a Los Angeles holiday packages the kids will remember forever.

Whether you want a beach getaway, family memories to last a lifetime or just want to stuff your face with a California burrito (it’s a burrito…with French fries!), you’ll always be glad you booked San Diego package deals on Wotif. We’ve got everything you need for fun in the sun. Well, except the man-kini. That’s up to you.

The lanai wasn’t the same one from the picture, and neither was the bathroom. Our lanai was dirty and covered in bird crap. I had to clean out the drawers myself before we put our items in, they had crap in it. We didn’t get what was shown to us, nor what we paid for. If I personally pick the room, ...
